What kind of friend are you?

During these challenging economic times many (if not most everyone) has at least one eye on the job market as they are suffering from the normal stresses associated with the market instability and the lack of knowledge about how it will impact their company (i.e. if layoffs are coming). So I find it interesting as we call to recruit on high quality jobs with stable (and yes even growing companies) that there is still a high level of hesitation to either pursue the market and, more curiously, even to refer a friend/co-worker that may benefit by this opportunity.

As we see it in trying times there are two kinds of people; those that want to hunker down and hope the storm passes and others who would rather be proactive about finding a better (or more secure) role, and while I not here to tell someone what’s right or wrong I think people should be given the opportunity to make up there own mind.

So when you here from a recruiter do yourself a favor and here them out, and if it is a good job, but just not for you, you should seriously consider offering the same option to a friend. Especially since logic dictates that they almost always want to hear about what’s going on in the market so that they can make informed decisions about their careers.
